It’s been more than a year since we last visited Westeros so with each new snippet of Game of Thrones season seven comes fresh excitement. But with the new series just days away, the latest sneak peek pictures of episode one may well include the most tantalising teasers yet…

The batch of photos, released ahead of Monday morning’s premiere, Dragonstone, is simulcast on HBO and Sky Atlantic (set your alarm for 2am guys, we’ll be live-blogging the whole thing) hint that a MAJOR event in the Game of Thrones narrative could well be happening a lot earlier in the series than we had anticipated!

Not interested in knowing what that MAJOR event is? Then you’d best look away now.

Curious? OK then.

We’ll share the news.

It looks like Bran and Meera (or at least just Meera) have found their way to The Wall already, meaning a Stark family reunion at Winterfell is creeping ever closer.

Now we know that Bran carries a massive secret about his bastard brother who isn’t actually Ned’s bastard and isn’t actually his brother, but rather his cousin by aunt Lyanna Stark and an unknown daddy (assumed to be Daenerys’s dead big brother and heir to the Iron Throne, Rhaegar Targaryen) – but could Jon become partial to that knowledge quite soon too?

We’ll have to wait until Dragonstone airs to find out. Who’s to say they’ll even make it from The Wall to Winterfell?

Plenty of other things will happen in the episode, though.

Lady Lyanna Mormont will probably continue to be badass.

Cersei Lannister, first of her name, will struggle to finish her geography homework.

And spend a lot of time trying to think of a good excuse for why it’s not done before settling on “The Mountain ate it”.

Daenerys will stare mournfully at her ancestral home, Dragonstone.

And she’ll probably take the throne her Mad King daddy once sat on.

Pod and Brienne will continue to enjoy a blissfully conflict free friendship.

And Dolorous Ed will march through snow carrying a torch, doing what those Night’s Watch boys do best.

Bring on winter. We’re so ready.
