If you enjoy watching historical documentaries or dramas on TV, then we have a date for your diary. BBC History Magazine, Britain’s best-selling history monthly, is running its popular history weekends again this autumn, bringing TV historians together so you can meet them in person and get up and close with the stories you’ve seen on TV or heard on the radio. This year, the magazine is running two weekends – one in Winchester, from 6-8 October, and a second in York, from 24-26 November.

At Winchester, you’ll be able to catch Michael Wood, talking about the Anglo-Saxons, and Janina Ramirez on the Middle Ages. Plus there is David Olosuga on Black British history, Anita Anand talking about the famous Koh-i-Noor diamond, James Holland on the Second World War and Dan Jones on the Templars.

At York, again you’ll find Michael Wood, David Olosuga, and Dan Jones. On top of that, for Poldark fans, Hannah Greig will be talking about 18th century Cornwall and the world in which the series is set, while popular historical novelist Alison Weir talks about England’s queens.

That’s just a taste of what’s on offer. Full details are at historyweekend.com and we have a special offer for radiotimes.com visitors. By entering RT10 on the code section of the booking page you will be entitled to 10% off the price of your tickets. The offer is valid until Friday 28th July 2017.
