Dexter star Michael C Hall and Sherlock’s Amanda Abbington are set to star in new eight-part drama for Netflix called Safe.
Written by Bafta winning screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst, Safe is set in a gated community and focuses on paediatric surgeon Tom (Hall), who is bringing up his two teenage daughters alone following the death of his wife.
The family appear to have recovered, until one of his daughters sneaks out to a party, and a murder that same night rocks the family’s fragile world once again.
The series is created by exec producer Harlan Coben and is a co-production between Netflix and French broadcaster CANAL+.
RED Production Company, the company behind BBC1’s Last Tango in Halifax and Happy Valley, will produce the drama.
Filming began on Tuesday 11 July in the UK, with the series set to be released in 2018 on Netflix in the UK.
