Chesney Brown will be left fighting for his life in next week’s Coronation Street when he’s stabbed during a confrontation in the Bistro.
Chen gets caught in the crossfire when a row breaks out between Robert and Rich, who wants his drugs money to be laundered through the upmarket bar.
As Rich grabs a broken bottle and swings it around, threatening to reveal all about Robert’s past to Michelle, in walks Chesney, who gets slashed and is sent crashing to the ground.
Despite the dramatic nature of scenes, actor Sam Aston said that his experience filming the scenes was enjoyable:
“It was great fun. I’ve been here for quite a long time and I’ve never done anything like that. It was a challenge because Chesney is making kebabs most of the time. But it was really cool to be involved in something different.”
In the aftermath of the attack, Rich does a runner, while Daniel tries to stem the flow of blood while tending to Chesney’s wound.
But as he’s loaded into an ambulance, the residents of the Street will be left frantic with worry that Ches might die as a result of the injury.
Top of the list of those with their fingers crossed are, of course, Fiz and Sinead, the latter of whom has only just agreed to give her relationship with Chesney another go.
As each pray that Ches makes a full recovery as they sit by his hospital bedside, will their pleas be answered?
