Emmerdale: Harriet’s condition goes critical – plus Cain kidnaps Ross AGAIN!

Tonight's cliffhanger left two lives in jeopardy

We were in classic soap cliffhanger territory on Emmerdale tonight – with two lives left hanging in the balance.

Scenes just broadcast saw an injured Harriet’s life-support readings start to crash, while back in the village, Cain had an unconscious Ross tied up in the boot of his car.

A dramatic episode found Cain deciding to take revenge after overhearing Finn apologising to a sedated Harriet about the showdown with drug dealers that left her with a stab wound to the abdomen.

Pinning Finn to a wall, Cain demanded to know whether it was Ross’s reckless plan that ended up putting Harriet in hospital. Despite Finn failing to verbally confirm Cain’s suspicions, it was enough for the original village bad boy to take matters into his own hands.

As medics rushed around Harriet after her condition turned critical, we cut to Cain listening to a panicked voicemail message from Finn left on Ross’s phone, before the camera panned round to reveal Ross bound in his car.

This isn’t, of course, the first time that Cain has resorted to such tactics  – on the of his daughter Debbie’s wedding to Pete back in 2015, Cain abducted Ross to stop him from ruining the nuptials.

On that occasion, Ross only just escaped in one piece – will he be less lucky this time? And will Harriet be able to pull through in the face of this new medical setback?
