Six seasons in six weeks: Game of Thrones fans accept #PrepareforWinter binge-watch challenge

Westeros die-hards are taking on a 60-episode binge ahead of the season 7 premiere


As excitement builds ahead of the long-awaited seventh season of Game of Thrones, their typically die-hard fanbase are proving their dedication by taking on the #PrepareForWinter challenge: to binge-watching the entirety of the first six seasons of Game of Thrones in the six weeks before the new seasons premieres.


For anyone counting, that’s 60 episodes in total, equating to roughly 10 hours per week. More like, #preparetosaygoodbyetoyoursociallife.

The challenge was initially posed by HBO’s official Facebook page at the beginning of the month, with a short teasing video.

The show’s loyal fanbase duly obliged.

The GOT hysteria may be ramping up to a higher level than ever, as the show edges ever closer to pits penultimate season, though there are reports that the eighth and final season may not air until 2019.

Game of Thrones Season 7 premieres exclusively on 17th July on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV at 2am, repeated at 9pm on the same day
