People are furious the new series of House of Cards was released AFTER the Bank Holiday

Life imitates art: the people are turning on Frank Underwood for real

The fifth season of Netflix’s close-to-the-bone political drama arrived this morning, but people are unhappy that it has come the day after a three-day weekend, seeing hours of potential binge time going to waste.

A slew of fans have taken to Twitter to mourn the missed opportunity.

The second May bank holiday weekend in the UK coincided with memorial day in the USA, meaning that 9-5ers on both sides of the pond would have had three full days to binge on the political drama.

It certainly makes sense to strategically plan releases around holidays, when people are more likely to consume them in the way that Netflix so unsubtly promotes: long binging sessions.

Will Netflix listen? Perhaps if the Twitter warriors make enough noise…
