Danny Dyer has finally returned to EastEnders – his character Mick Carter having just turned up in tonight’s episode, only to find Whitney in his bed with new bar manager Woody.
Dyer’s return date to the soap had previously been reported as being the 19th May, but his reappearance was actually broadcast in a cliffhanger scene just broadcast on BBC1.
Viewers have yet to find out how Mick will react to what he’s just witnessed, but judging by his expression, he’s hardly overjoyed any the sight of his son’s estranged wife carrying on with another man.
Mick will, of course, find that plenty has changed at the Queen Vic while he’s been away caring for sick daughter Nancy in Bulgaria.
In his absence, mum Shirley has sold the freehold of the Queen Vic in order to pay for repairs to a damaged kitchen as well as poorly pet dog Lady Di’s vet bills. The trouble is, she forged Mick’s signature in order to do so.
Upcoming episodes will see Mick find out about Shirley’s actions and do his best to find a loophole in the new lease. As the pressure mounts, Mick decides to set up to a meeting with Fi Browning (Lisa Faulkner) to see if he can find a way out of the new contract.
But has Shirley sealed the Carters’ fate and left Mick trapped? Or can anything be done about the business deal?
