With summer nearly upon us, the release of Dunkirk is looming – Christopher Nolan’s summer blockbuster charting the Allied forces miraculous escape from the beaches of northern France.
A star-studded cast – including Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh – has been assembled to tell the tale of the civilian flotilla that sailed to the rescue of 400,000 soldiers in the early stages of World War II.
Nolan’s epic narrates the story by air, sea and land and this first full-length trailer gives a sneak peak of the sort of special effects we can expect from the big-budget production, due to land in UK cinemas on 21st July.
And as we witness enemy bombs rain down on the scores of soldiers, there’s a glimpse of One Direction singer Harry Styles – in his feature film debut – attempting to avoid a watery grave.
Does he succeed? We’ll have to wait a few short months to find out – but in the meantime, feast your eyes on the dramatic new footage below…
