Coronation Street: Sally to resign following trolling hell – here’s what happens next

Rosie and Sophie go all out to catch their mum's persecutor

Coronation Street’s Sally Metcalfe has opted to resign from the local council following pressure from vicious trolls.

Tonight’s Corrie saw Sally break down in husband Tim’s arms as she admitted she was scared for her own safety.

Viewers have seen Sally receive threatening texts as well as a pig’s heart in an horrific parcel, with her persecutors also publishing her death notice in the newspaper.

This evening’s episode saw Sally struggle while making a speech at the town hall, while Tim jumped to the erroneous conclusion that her stalker was in the crowd at the event.

Next, Corrie fans can expect to see Rosie and Sophie take action in a bid to expose whoever it is that’s been hounding their mum.

Deciding that enough’s enough, the pair head to the Gazette’s office, only for Rosie to come face to face with the photographer who twisted her words over Sally’s building site protest.

Using the situation to her advantage, Rosie demands that he gives them some information. But will the snapper hand over the details of the person that posted the obituary in the first place?

And can the Webster girls they find the evidence they need to uncover the identity of the troll?
