What did you think of To Walk Invisible: the Brontë Sisters?
Was the latest drama from Bafta-winning writer Sally Wainwright worthy of the famous family of authors?
The tale of the Bronte sisters is one rarely dramatised on TV (unless you’re counting Horrible Histories), so To Walk Invisible was a breath of fresh Eyre for our traditionally Dickens-stuffed Christmas schedules.
Starring Happy Valley’s Charlie Murphy, the drama followed the tragedy and passion of the three Bronte author sisters (Anne, Emily and Charlotte) and their mischievous brother Branwell. But was it any good?
Did the Bronte Biopic deserve its two-hour run time? Did it get you snoozing on the sofa? Or did it keep you on the edge of your seat?
And did the show reach the (Wuthering) heights of writer Sally Wainwright’s previous works like Happy Valley and Last Tango In Halifax? Why?
Also, what about the cast: did anyone stick out and make the show their own? Or was the real drama trapped in the script?
