EastEnders: Roxy turns to drugs – after asking Ronnie to adopt Amy

There was new trauma for Roxy in scenes just broadcast on the BBC1 soap

Roxy Mitchell’s life took another nosedive on tonight’s EastEnders when cliffhanger scenes saw her turning to drugs.

Earlier in the episode, viewers saw Roxy’s feelings of alienation grow when she discovered that daughter Amy had been accepted into a new school in Ongar, which is where Ronnie, Jack and the kids are moving to in the new year.

After being given food for thought by Reverend Stevens, Roxy then dropped a bombshell on sister Ronnie when she asked her adopt Amy.

After Roxy explained her decision, a supportive Ronnie agreed to the idea. But feeling lonelier than ever, Roxy later made a drastic decision when – after spotting a dealer – she ended up buying some drugs…

Both Rita Simons and Samantha Womack – who play the Mitchell sisters – are set to leave EastEnders in the coming weeks, with rumours currently circulating with Roxy and Ronnie are to get a grisly exit from Albert Square.
