Arnold Schwarzenegger up the duff… the premise sells the movie in this 1994 comedy

Junior  ★★★

10.40pm-12.40am ITV

Arnold Schwarzenegger was deadly serious during the US election when he refused to vote for fellow Republican Donald Trump. But back in the 1980s and early 90s he was experimenting with comedy in Twins, Last Action Hero and this game attempt at broad farce from Ghost Busters director Ivan Reitman. His Twins co-star Danny DeVito plays the geneticist who impregnates Arnie with an untested fertility drug (“Let’s put a bun in your oven”). The central music-hall-style gag is macho Arnie turning feminine: he cries at TV ads and complains of sensitive nipples and having “nothing to wear”. Fortunately, strong support comes from Emma Thompson as an accident-prone fellow doctor in what is a “feminist” fable made almost exclusively by men.
