Spare a thought for poor Carol Vorderman and Scarlett Moffatt. The pair were voted by the public to face the I’m a Celebrity Big Bush Bake Off in a bid to win meals for the camp.
But in an episode airing on Wednesday night on ITV, the two contestants stare down their challenge with a mixture of confidence and trepidation.
“One of my favourite foods is doner meat and that’s a doner – it isn’t even like a real animal,” muses Scarlett. “I don’t know what I’m eating when I [have] that so I think I’ll be fine on this trial.”
“We’ve got to imagine we’ve been walking through the desert for days and we’re really starving and we’ll eat anything,” Carol advises her fellow campmate.
“As my dad always says, what won’t stick in your throat, won’t stick in your arse,” concludes Scarlett. Er, right.
They later make their way to the Bushtucker Trial where Ant and Dec jokingly remind them, “Now there’s not a soggy bottom in site… yet.”
The hosts explain that the challenge will consist of five rounds with each completed course earning a star – and therefore a meal for camp.
So, what’s on the menu? Scarey Berry has prepared a delectable feast that includes chocolate nip cookies (camel nipples), French knackeroons (turkey testicles), bum-offee pie (cow anus) and Sicktoria sponge (vomit fruit).
Will they be able to stomach it? Tune into ITV on Wednesday at 9pm to find out.
