Steve Coogan and Anna Friel to share the sofa on Gogglebox

The actress and comedian sit down for Stand Up to Cancer

Celebrities, they’re just like us. Except richer and more talented, obviously. Anyway, in aid of Stand Up to Cancer, Steve Coogan and Anna Friel will appear on a special star studded version of Googlebox.

Olly Murs, Jamie Vardy, and Niall Horan are already confirmed for the programme this Friday, and it’s all in aid to a worthy cause.

“Cancer has robbed us of the most amazing talent this year and we’ve all lost people close to us,” Steve Coogan said. “The work undertaken by the Stand Up To Cancer campaign is nothing short of fantastic and Anna and I are delighted to be able to play our part.”

“At a time when cancer seems to affect more of us than ever before, we really need to pull together,” Friel added. “Steve and I are such big fans of Gogglebox and are thrilled to be part of this year’s Stand Up To Cancer. We hope that we can help raise lots of money for such a brilliant cause.”

The show will be the first episode of Gogglebox without the narration of the late Caroline Aherne, to whom it will be dedicated.
