Bake Off 2015 winner Nadiya speaks out following Paul Hollywood’s decision to stay on Channel 4

The bookies have tipped her as the favourite to join the show following Mary Berry's announcement that she would not be joining Hollywood on the new channel

Nadiya Hussain, The Great British Bake Off 2015 winner, has spoken out for the first time since Mary Berry quit the show.

Nadiya has been installed as one of the favourites to appear on the show as a judge, after Mary Berry announced she was bidding “farewell to soggy bottoms” after Channel 4 bought The Great British Bake Off.

In her Twitter post since Berry quit and Paul Hollywood decided to go with the show, Nadiya said she thought that “each made the right decision for them”.

The Bake Off star, who won over the nation last year with her emotional speeches, exaggerated facial expressions and, of course, her baking, is the front runner to be a new judge on the show. Other favourites include James Martin, Nancy Birtwhistle and Nigella Lawson.

Meanwhile, the BBC has said it is “highly likely” that it will make a new baking or cookery show with Mary Berry, Mel and Sue.
