Winds of Winter, the latest book in George RR Martin’s Game Of Thrones series, is due out on 9th March 2017 – according to a listing on Amazon France.
The author was thought to still be writing book six of A Song of Ice and Fire, having said on his blog last August that he was “still working on book six”, and that “I have no announcement to make on that front”.
However, the page on Amazon France’s website, still up at the time of writing, appeared to claim that the latest instalment will be released on 9th March 2017.
RadioTimes.com contacted HarperCollins, the UK publisher for A Song of Ice and Fire, who said that “as yet nothing has been finalised regarding the publication or the date.”
The action in season six of Game of Thrones overtook the book when it aired earlier this year, although RR Martin has said that events in the TV series may differ from his depiction in the books.
In May this year, he released a chapter of the book on his blog, although there has been no official confirmation of the release date for the latest instalment of A Song of Ice and Fire.
Season seven of Game of Thrones meanwhile will return next year.
