The Great British Bake Off gets its own Twitter emoji

While they bake, we'll get down to tweeting

The Great British Bake Off is back tonight and because Twitter knows we’ll all be posting about every crumb, crust and crème brûlée its gone and given us a GBBO emoji.

Every time you use the official hashtag #GBBO, up pops the Bake Off tent.

There’s bunting, blue skies, freshly cut grass… one can almost smell the freshly baked bread.

There’ll be tents tumbling out all over the social media site later today. Last year there was an average of 2,095 tweets per minute during the final, which saw Nadiya Hussain crowned the winner.

And why stop at the hashtag? We’ve found all of this year’s bakers on Twitter so you can follow along with their thoughts on baking for judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.

The Great British Bake Off returns tonight at 8:00pm on BBC1
