Turns out as Winter takes hold of Westeros, the characters of Game of Thrones won’t be perching around a fire to learn the true meaning of Christmas. Shocking. Absolutely shocking.
In fact, HBO’s flagship show – you know, the one where a few hundred soldiers almost got crushed to death before the sadistic manic in charge of the opposite army was torn apart by his own pack of killer hounds thanks to his orphan wife – is about to get even darker.
After reading the scripts for season seven, Maisie Williams (Ayra Stark, the now-fully-trained assassin) told fans on Twitter last night that “nothing will prepare you” for the upcoming episodes.
Holy BALLS, indeed. Williams’ teasing comments come after Kit Harington’s recent interview about the bleak future of the Seven Kingdoms.
Although Harington hadn’t seen the scripts before speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, the Jon Snow actor said: “I think it’s going to get very dark before it gets better. I think what we might see this season is those White Walkers and that Army of the Dead really come into force.
“I don’t know what it means. I think with the whole ‘winter is finally here’ business, it means everyone is going to have a really bad time.”
This story in short: if Game of Thrones hasn’t yet made you cry yet then it soon will. Good luck.
