Emmerdale: Andy knows that Chrissie set him up – what will he do next?

As Andy discovers the truth, is he destined for a life on the run?

Andy Sugden has finally realised that it was Chrissie White who set him up for the shooting of Lawrence White. Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale saw the truth come out after Andy turned up at Home Farm with plans to go on the run with Chrissie and Lachlan.

After initially assuming that it was Lawrence who was to blame for him being charged, Andy ultimately discovered that Chrissie was the true mastermind thanks to a surreptitious phone call she made while pretending to pack.

“I always knew you were dim, but I can’t believe it’s taken you this long to work it out,” Chrissie said, showing her true colours. An amazed Andy then quizzed her as to why she’d framed him – the answer, of course, being because he slept with Bernice.

“That pathetic, clownish stain of a woman. You slept with her and now you’re going to pay!” she railed, leaving Andy at a loss as to what to do next. So will he try to convince the police of Chrissie’s complicity in the crime her son committed? Or is he destined for a life on the run on his own?

Rumours are currently circulating that actor Kelvin Fletcher – who has played Andy for 20 years – will leave Emmerdale at the climax of this plotline, with a source recently commenting:

“Kelvin is a soap legend and will be sorely missed by Emmerdale and viewers. Bosses have managed to keep him leaving top secret, but now the cat is out of the bag.

“Producers have given him a big, dramatic exit. It’s going to be the perfect way to see off Andy.”
