EastEnders shock: Whitney is told that she has chlamydia!

Will Lee confess that he is the cause of the problem?

Pregnant Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) is in for a shock on next week’s EastEnders when she finds that she has an STI.

Scenes to be broadcast on Friday 29 July see Whitney get call from the doctors asking her to come in. With Lee by her side, the medic tells Whitney that she has chlamydia but that they’ve caught it in time.

Fans of the BBC1 soap know that when Lee had his recent one-night stand with Abi, she had picked up chlamydia from her boyfriend Ben.

So will Lee finally come clean about his infidelity? Speaking about his character’s big secret, actor Danny-Boy Hatchard said:

“Lee’s not the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to something as dynamic as, ‘OK, I’ve had sex with this person and she could potentially have chlamydia’. I don’t think he looks into it that much and, at first, he doesn’t think about it.

“But then it begins to dawn on him quite quickly. I think there are a thousand different things that are going through his head at that point, but obviously that is the worst possible thing!”
