His mangled face has been covered by a helmet ever since ex-maester Qyburn worked some gruesome experiments on him in Season Five of Game of Thrones.
And now actor Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson (also known as Iceland’s strongest man) has offered a glimpse as to what Ser Gregor Clegane, aka The Mountain, has been hiding underneath – and it ain’t pretty.
Fans will remember how the Frankenstein-style work was carried out on the gigantic member of the Kingsguard after he suffered poisoning at the hands of Oberyn Martell and his deadly spears.
Since then he’s been back to crushing heads in a full suit of armour, but the only clue we’ve had to what his face now looks like has been the reddened eyes and flakey skin poking out of the eyeholes of his helmet.
Björnsson posted the behind-the-scenes snap last night – and it’s safe to say he looks like he could do with a little lotion on that skin of his.
