Love Island will be back for a third series next year – and as far as this year’s winners Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde are concerned, host Caroline Flack simply must return, too.
“She has to!” Cara insisted to RadioTimes.com, adding: “I don’t think anyone else could do it!”
There’s been no official word yet, but Cara’s having no talk of someone else stepping in. “How could you have Love Island without Flacky?! That’s just ridiculous, it makes no sense!”
Nathan is also Team Flack, saying that the “Love Island family” very much includes the host.
“We are a massive family in Love Island, even Caroline. She’s like a sister. Whenever the girls were getting changed it was like ‘urg!’ looking at your sister. That’s what it was like. Not once did we all look. I was so comfortable talking to people but in that villa, everyone was comfortable with each other. Big family. Caroline’s the same. She comes in, gives off a lovely impression of herself. She made us all feel welcome.”
Flack has been with the show since it re-launched on ITV2 last year and, with ratings through to roof this year, I see no reason to think the channel will mess with the formula. And, given their announcement runs with Flack’s picture, it seems safe to assume Cara and Nathan will be happy with next year’s line-up.
Love Island: Heading Home airs Sunday 17 July, 9pm ITV2
