Love Island is over and Twitter doesn’t know what to do with itself

Tears have been shed, winners have been crowned and now it's all over... until next summer

For the last six weeks our TV screens have been tuned into a steamy villa in the Mediterranean, where a group of attractive, hair-less 20-somethings wearing tiny swimming trunks and itsy bitsy teenie weenie bikinis have been on the look out for love.

There have been dramas, tears, scenes of a sexual nature and an awful lot of people being ‘mugged off’ – and we’ve been there to witness it all. 

Yeah, it’s fair to say we’ve all become a little bit obsessed with Love Island…

But all good things must come to an end… 

Last night, the contestants dressed up for their final night on the island…

And love – the real deal – was in the air.

Or, at least, we hoped it was… 

The winners were announced.

But not without a suitable amount of build up… 

And that was it. Love Island was over.

The show’s dedicated fans (us included) were left feeling more than a little bereft…

The only good news? The fact that Love Island will be back for another series next summer…
