All things considered, 2016 has been a pretty horrible year so far. So it’s good to know that there’s at least one very special Christmas TV treat to look forward to this year.
The Great British Bake Off are planning not one, but two special festive episodes, featuring past bakers returning to compete in three special Christmas challenges.
Each episode of The Great Christmas Bake Off will see four bakers from past series returning to serve up their favourite Christmas bakes for Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry.
Never ones to miss a free Christmas lunch, Mel and Sue will also be back, ready to give a helping hand and a crappy Christmas cracker joke.
The two episodes will be made by Bake Off producers Love Productions, and will be broadcast on BBC1.
But it’s not the only Bake Off treat to look forward to this year. The series itself will return as normal, while 2015 winner Nadiya Hussain has been given her own BBC cooking series, the rather fantastically named ‘Chronicles of Nadiya’.
