Benedict Cumberbatch and the Sherlock crew show their support for Wales against Portugal

More celebrities come out in force for the Euro 2016 underdogs

As the old saying goes, you wait ages for a Steven Moffat-fronted BBC series to release a tribute tweet to the Welsh football team for their match against Portugal and then two come along at once.

Yep, just hours after Doctor Who stars Pearl Mackie and Matt Lucas showed their support for Gareth Bale and co in their Euro 2016 campaign, the cast and crew of Sherlock have sent out their own (bilingual) tribute to the nation their series is filmed in.

Even if Wales don’t make it through the semis tonight, they’ll always have Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman’s (blurry) support to remember, eh?

Sherlock will return to BBC1 early next year
