Was Chris Evans hinting at Top Gear exit with his radio song choices?

The Radio 2 DJ appeared to have leaving on his mind when queuing up the tracks...

Chris Evans may have been giving us clues about his imminent Top Gear exit with his set list on this morning’s Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

Ahead of this afternoon’s announcement that he was bowing out of the motoring show, Evans’s early morning choice of songs included:

The Only Way Is Up

Leave Me Alone

Don’t Even Try

Don’t Go Breaking My Heart

When The Love Is Gone

… and seemingly summing it all up: Blue Monday.

Hopefully things will get cheerier as the week goes on, eh?

The presenter announced his exit from the show on Twitter saying he gave it his “best shot”, hosting the BBC show for just one series.

We understand Evans won’t be replaced and that the rest of the presenting line-up are in ongoing contract talks to continue without him for the next series.
