Ross Kemp made an unannounced return to EastEnders tonight as Grant put in an appearance at his mum Peggy’s funeral.
The Mitchells were out in force in this evening’s episode, but the family had been led to believe that Grant couldn’t make Peggy’s send-off.
However, as the mourners gathered by the graveside, Grant was seen standing away from the rest of the clan and carrying a single red rose.
As yet, characters such as his brother Phil and ex-wife Sharon are unaware of Grant being back in town – although Ross Kemp is set to appear in another batch of episodes in the none too distant future,
The actor and documentary-maker made a much-publicised return to EastEnders in May following a decade’s absence in order to mark the exit of screen mother Barbara Windsor.
But Kemp revealed to Radio Times that he would be back on the Elstree set for three more weeks. The 51-year-old star recently took to Twitter to state that he had now completed that second period of filming.
What brings Grant back to Albert Square remains to be seen, although rumours are currently circulating that we might yet get to see Grant’s son Mark, the secret child he had with Michelle Fowler…
