How Coronation Street is marking the anniversary of Deirdre’s death

Tracy will pay an emotional visit to her mum's grave in scenes to be shown next week

Coronation Street is to mark the one-year anniversary of Deirdre Barlow’s death by having warring Tracy and Amy reconcile by her grave.

Tracy has been at loggerheads with her daughter ever since her scheme to ruin Carla and Nick’s wedding day was exposed. Amy will even be seen refusing to visit Tracy in hospital when she collapses with a kidney infection.

But it looks like the Barlows will settle their differences in scenes to be shown next week when they pay a visit to matriarch Deirdre’s graveside.

In the episode to air on Friday 8 July, a lonely Tracy will be seen crying by her mum’s burial plot, remorse for her recent mistakes plainly evident.

Back on the Street, Robert tells Amy that Tracy must be suffering terribly as Deirdre meant the world to her – and the pair head off to the cemetery.

When mother and daughter finally come face to face, Tracy is thrilled when Amy tentatively hugs her. Later, as Tracy sits alone at No 1, she’s interrupted by the arrival of Ken and Amy.

Amy explains that she’s prepared to move back, while Tracy’s thrilled to have her daughter home. But what conditions will Amy lay down? And can Amy and Tracy truly put the past behind them?
