Coronation Street: Sarah is taken hostage by Billy’s brother Lee in shock upcoming scenes

The brutal ordeal will have echoes of Sarah's fatal encounter with Callum last year

History looks set to repeat itself on Coronation Street when Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) is left fighting off an attacker in scenes eerily reminiscent of her ordeal at the hands of Callum Logan.

An upcoming episode will see heroin-addicted Lee (Richard Crehan) take Sarah hostage and phone his brother Billy, telling him that he’ll only release his captive if he comes up with £1000.

A horrified Billy will then be seen recruiting Todd and David to check out some addresses in search of Lee while he tries to raise the cash. But as a jittery Sarah waits, Lee fuels her already palpable fears by insisting that Callum is still alive.

Her worst nightmare apparently confirmed, Sarah attempts to make a run for it, but Lee grabs her and they wrestle on the floor. Reminded of her ordeal at the hands of Callum, Sarah breaks down and Lee realises she’s mentally unstable. But will he end up freeing Sarah or making a tense situation worse?

Find out when Coronation Street broadcasts these scenes on Sunday 19 June.
