Actor Ryan Thomas has dismissed rumours that he is to take part in ITV’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
When asked by RadioTimes.com whether he had the reality show in his sights, the 31-year-old Coronation Street star said:
“It’s not something that appeals to me. Each to their own. But it’s not my thing.”
Earlier this week, Ryan’s brother Scott, who is taking part in this year’s Love Island was reported as saying that his sibling would be open to the idea of taking part in I’m a Celebrity. “I think he will do that eventually,” said the 27-year-old club promoter.
But it seems that Ryan is still too busy getting used to life post-Corrie to consider a stint in the jungle.
Speaking about completing his final scenes as builder Jason Grimshaw, he said: “It’s been a mixed bag of emotions because it’s a family that I’m leaving behind.
“After I finished, I sat on the couch at home and realised that I didn’t have a job anymore and that’s a really bizarre feeling to have. It’s surreal to not have that attachment to Coronation Street any more after 16 years. But change is what I want.”
Asked whether the door had been left open for him to return, the actor added: “They’ve been really good to me. Never say never. It’s a beautiful place to be. But I don’t want to look backwards. I only want to look forwards. I’d never be able to think about the future if I thought about things like that.”
