Bear Grylls: Mission Survive has been axed

But ITV says there are more Bear Grylls projects to come

After just two series, Bear Grylls: Mission Survive has failed to live up to its name.

ITV has confirmed that the entertainment show, which saw celebrities compete in tough wilderness challenges, has been cancelled.

A spokesperson for the channel said: “We had two exciting series of Mission Survive, but the commissioning team continues to refresh the channel’s entertainment portfolio and so we have taken the decision not to commission a further series.

“We would like to thank Bear and the production team for everything that they achieved with the series. We have a number of projects with Bear in the pipeline and we will be announcing more details in due course.”

This year’s series saw footballer Alex Scott crowned the winner, while her fellow contestant Neil Morrissey said being on the show was “a bit like childbirth: you don’t really like going through it but once it’s all over you lose the memory and probably would do it again”.
