Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard star in first Assassin’s Creed trailer

Here's a first proper look at the film adaptation of the video game...

Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard are heading to 15th century Spain for a movie version of hit video game franchise Assassin’s Creed, a story about technology, genetic memories and secret societies.

Reunited with his Macbeth co-star, Fassbender plays Callum Lynch, who through technology is able to experience the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th century Spain – that fun period of the Spanish Inquisition.

He discovers he’s descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organisation in the present day.
