Joe Swash will return for I’m A Celeb spin-off – is Vicky Pattison joining him?

Hosting ITV2's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here NOW! would be a "dream" for the reigning queen of the jungle

ITV is keeping tight-lipped about this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here NOW! presenting line-up following the departure of both Laura Whitmore and David Morgan, but a source close to the show has told me Joe Swash will definitely be back.

It makes sense given this will be his eighth year; the former king of the jungle is part of the furniture. He’s like the bugs: you’ve got to have him (that’s meant to be a compliment, honest).

But who will be joining him? No sooner did the news of an opening break than two-time campmate Katie Price threw her hat into the ring. She chucked ex-hubby Peter Andre’s in for good measure, too. Plus, only a few weeks ago Virgin Radio drive-time DJ and former Xtra Factor host Matt Richardson told me he’d “rip [Laura’s] arm off” for the gig.

It’s a “blank canvas” I’m told by ITV, with producers set to start scouting out potential new presenters soon. However, while they’ve not seen anyone yet, it seems very likely the reigning queen of the jungle, Vicky Pattison, will be considered as a co-host.

Since leaving the jungle Pattison has proven she’s a dab hand at presenting, earning high praise for her turn on Loose Women. And I’m a Celeb has form turning to former campmates for its hosts. Matt Willis and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, like Swash, have quite literally been there, done that, eaten the Kangaroo testicle. And as Swash proves, it helps to have someone bantering with campmates with knowledge of what it’s really like being in the jungle. Plus, they invariably get slung into more trials. And anyone willing to do more Bushtucker Trials is very welcome on the sister show.

By all accounts the idea isn’t that far from Pattison’s mind, either.

“Vicky would love to do the show,” a source close to the star told RadioTimes.com. “It would be a dream.”

Perhaps former campmate Ferne McCann will be in the mix, too. McCann has also proved her mettle as a showbiz reporter on This Morning. Then again, ITV has a few options to consider at the moment. While on the hunt for jungle-based presenters, Pattison and co could be considered for the new The Voice spin-off and – depending on what’s going on with Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom – maybe even Xtra Factor, too.
