You can watch Bear Grylls do some rectal rehydration on Mission Survive if you like

Bear bares all and then his remaining survivors are asked if they're up for the challenge, too

Things take an interesting turn on Mission Survive tonight when Bear Grylls challenges his remaining survivors to do a bit of… rectal rehydration.

He does it first, of course. He’s Bear Grylls. He’s all about the ‘I won’t ask anyone to do anything I haven’t done’ thing. Remaining contestants Michelle Collins, Alex Scott, Samantha Barks and Jason Gardiner simply watch on.

“This is what I call a rough and ready field hospital,” Bear insists as he drops his trousers.

Bare Bear leads to a lot of awkwardness. On a scale of 1 to awkward we’re at totes awks.

Rock climbing, swimming in shark-infested water and leaping off cliffs must suddenly seem like a tempting alternative. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the celebs suddenly starts climbing a nearby cliff face with their bare hands just to avoid the rehydration challenge.

It’s to teach them something of course. Bear isn’t halfway through some medical course and needs to get his hours of hands-on experience up. Rectal rehydration has saved the lives of many people stranded with no clean water.

But will the survivors agree to do it? Tune in (wayyyy after you’ve finished your dinner) tonight from 9pm on ITV to find out.
