Michelle Collins just misses out on Bear Grylls: Mission Survive final

The actress was told the margin for error was too slim to let her stay

Michelle Collins has been kicked out of Bear Grylls: Mission Survive, which is seemingly just as well because even when she stood up to hug Bear her sore knee made her shriek out.

Let’s face it, there’s only so many times you want to bandage up a swollen knee and attempt to traverse the wilds of South Africa having had little sleep, minimal food and only a teeny tiny peak at Bear Grylls’s bum. Ahem.

The actress has certainly had her ups and downs on the show. Last week’s episode saw her literally clinging onto to a rock face with her bare hands, after failing to clip her harness in correctly. She’d also got into one too many spats with choreographer Jason Gardiner. It was only a matter of time before it all went a bit too Lord of the Flies and one of them was on the fire.

Bear explained that because the show was only going to get tougher, the margin of error was too slim to allow her to stay.

“At this level, I don’t think you’d survive,” he said, leaving footballer Alex Scott and actress Samantha Barks in the final with Gardiner.

Collins said the experience had been “amazing” but did look somewhat relieved to be hotfooting it out of there. If he’d taken any longer to say her name I think she’d have just whipped off the bandana and left herself.

With the final looming, Bear will be putting the remaining three through their paces. But who will prove tough enough to be named his Mission Survive champ?
