Geena Davis to lead the cast of The Exorcist TV series

The classic horror film is getting a small screen reboot

Another day, another reboot announcement and this time it’s classic horror flick The Exorcist that’s hoping to turn heads on and off screen with the news that Oscar winner Geena Davis will lead the cast.

Inspired by the William Blatty novel (which gave us the freakishly good film that made Linda Blair a household name) the new TV series will follow Davis’s Angela Rance, “a beautiful, regal and proud woman who, while weighed down by stress, does everything she can to stay positive and keep her faith even though her family is currently struggling”, The Hollywood Reporter says.

Rance wonders if her nightmares about a demon might be the root of all the evil in her life, and we’re guessing she isn’t too far off the mark.

It’ll be up to Alfonso Herrera (he of Sense8 fame) and Ben Daniels (who popped up in Cutting It, The Paradise, and House of Cards to name but a few) to investigate the case.
