Someone alert Leonardo DiCaprio. Vikings season four features a terrifying encounter with a bear that’s going to give The Revenant a run for his money.
If you thought you’d had your fill of real-life grizzlies and their real-life teeth, think again. The new series of this brutal historical drama, which kicks off on Amazon Prime today, is set to see Ragnar Lothbrok’s son Bjorn come face-to-face with a beast in the wilderness.
Two real bears were used to film the terrifying scenes in Canada, which we’ll get to watch during episode three.
It looks like it’s going to be a tough season for Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), who can be seen emerging from a frozen lake in the trailer too. But he won’t be the only one facing hardships…
When we meet back up with the Vikings, Ragnar is on his sick bed in Kattegat, but entry to Valhalla eludes him. Queen Aslaug is planning for Ragnar’s demise, asking the Seer if she will take power when he breathes his last. While Bjorn, back from Paris with glorious treasures, is assuming his father’s responsibilities.
He exposes Floki’s betrayal, announcing his arrest for the murder of Athelstan.
Talking of betrayals, there’s Ragnar’s brother Rollo. When we last saw him, he was turning his back on his people and forging an allegiance with the French. We won’t reveal any #spoilers but let’s just say we don’t expect him to be attending any family reunions any time soon…
Vikings season four airs from today on Amazon Prime Instant Video
