Matt LeBlanc’s lifestyle has had somewhat of an overhaul thanks to his new presenting gig on Top Gear. The actor told us last year that his favourite thing to do is “nothing”, but according to his Episodes co-star Stephen Mangan, there’s not quite so much downtime now.
“He’s gone from being a man with the most relaxed lifestyle on the planet to one of the busiest people. He’s flying all over the place with Top Gear,” Mangan told RadioTimes.com.
But he said the motoring show is a good fit for the former Friends star.
“He’s very excited. It’s great. He’s perfect for that part because he’s such a petrolhead.”
While the announcement of LeBlanc came as a surprise to many, it seems Mangan was ahead of the game, teasing that he “might have” known.
“I am a good secret keeper,” he laughed.
But while Mangan has already joked that he is in fact the show’s tame racing driver, The Stig, it looks like he really is keen to take up LeBlanc’s offer of going on as a guest for the first time.
“It’s just driving, how hard can it be? Press a pedal, turn a wheel, surely it can’t be that difficult.”
But he really wants milk his friendship with LeBlanc, so is certainly not intending to simply take a spin around Gambon Corner in the drizzle.
“I’m hoping he’s going to take me to South Africa or something like that. I don’t want to go somewhere in Surrey on a wet afternoon – I want to go somewhere glamorous!”
The pair are set to reunite this April to film the fifth (and what looks to be final) series of hit comedy Episodes, so Mangan should have plenty of time to work on getting that invitation…
