Much like The Hunger Games before it, the Divergent franchise is coming to an end (or at least starting to) next year with the release of the first film in an unnecessary two-part adaptation of the final book in a dystopian trilogy.
Penned by Young Adult author Veronica Roth, Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant follow a young girl called Tris (Shailene Woodley), who discovers that all is not as it seems in the organised society of post-apocalyptic Chicago.
Allegiant catches up with Tris and her fellow runaway/fella Four (Theo James, aka the Turkish ambassador’s pal Mr Pamuk, who died in Lady Mary’s bedroom in Downton) as they discover what lies beyond “the wall” that’s kept them “safe” for all these years.
The answer? Jeff Daniels, who’s sounding just a wee bit genocidal.
