The Great Sport Relief Bake Off, week 1: meet the celebrity bakers

Celebs are going to get their hands messy in this year's edition of Britain's favourite cooking show. Find out who will be whisking and drizzling this week in the list below

Samantha Cameron

Samantha Cameron lives at number 10 Downing Street and has contributed to a number of charity organisations: from Save The Children to Dress For Success and Vitalise, David Cameron’s wife is a businesswoman to behold. Although Tatler magazine has named her in their top 10 best dressed list, she isn’t afraid of batter and will be a dedicated contestant on the show.

David James

David James is a former footballer. He was goal keeper for numerous british teams including Liverpool, Manchester City and Portsmouth. Most recently, David served as a player and manager for the Indian super league Kerala Blaster FC. As well as football (and now cooking) David writes a regular column for the Observer of which he donates the fee to charity. He was also the illustrator of the children’s book Harry’s Magic Pockets: The Circus.

Maddy Hill

Maddy is a young british actress. She is best know for her role as Nancy Carter in EastEnders and her appearances on ITV drama Whitechapel. This will not be the first time her cooking is put to the test; Maddy was also a guest on the BBC show MasterChef a while back.

Jason Manford

Jason is a comedian, presenter and actor. He is best known for his roles in comedy shows such as Channel 4’s 8 out of 10 cats and ITV’s Odd One In. Touring around England for his own stand up comedy, his humour has had influence nationally. Did you know he was the voiceover on the Churchill Insurance adverts?

Keep an eye out for next week’s contestants: Ed Balls, Victoria Coren Mitchell, Chris Kamara and Kimberley Walsh
