The Great Sport Relief Bake Off, Week 2: Meet the celebrity bakers

Ed Balls, Victoria Coren Mitchell, Chris Kamara and Kimberley Walsh are the stars whisking and drizzling this week...

Ed Balls

The former Secretary of State and Shadow Chancellor left the House of Commons last year after losing his seat in the General Election. He has since become chairman of Norwich City FC and an occasional lecturer at Kings College University of London. Ed even has a day named after him – the 28th of April is recognised by Twitter users as Ed Balls Day after the time the not-so-social-media-savvy Balls tweeted his name instead of searching for it in his tool bar. Look out for numerous tweets reading simply “Ed Balls” on the same day this year…

Victoria Coren Mitchell

Victoria is a writer, presenter and professional poker player. She was the first woman to win an event on the European Poker tour. She writes for The Observer and The Guardian and, since 2008, has hosted fiendish BBC quiz show Only Connect. Victoria is married to David “Peep Show” Mitchell and is the sister of columnist and restaurant critic Giles Coren and the daughter of esteemed humourist Alan Coren.

Chris Kamara

Chris “Kammy” Kamara is a former English football player and manager turned Sky Sports pundit. Renowned for his comical gaffes, excitable nature and excellent moustache, and with a video game – Chris Kamara’s Street Soccer –to his name, Chris is nothing short of a cult hero…

Kimberley Walsh

Former Girl Aloud Kimberley is a singer, presenter and actress who has fronted programmes such as satellite music show Suck My Pop and once played Princess Fiona in Shrek: The Musical. In 2012, she was runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing. Can she shine as brightly on Bake Off this year?
