Aardman animated Stephen Hawking’s mind – and it’s as trippy as you’d expect

The physicist opens up on his love for how we perceive the world

Next week, physicist Stephen Hawking will deliver a Reith Lecture on Black Holes, and to mark the occasion master animators Aardman (who make, among many other things, Wallace and Gromit) have done their very best to visualise the inner workings of Hawking’s mind.

The results are strange, beautiful, and just a little bit trippy.

Covering everything from Hawking’s love of physics to the interaction between man and matter, the video also features the voices Professor Brian Cox, Carl Sagan and physicist Andrew Strominger.

Can we visit Hawking’s Head more often?
