Game of Thrones series five ended last spring on one hell of a plot twist. As the camera panned away we saw Jon Snow stabbed and bleeding in the, well, snow.
Was he dead? It certainly looked that way.
But we are a hopeful lot, who are convinced there could be more to come from Kit Harington’s moody Night’s Watchman. Especially when rumours that he’d been spied on set started doing the rounds.
Now something Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams said about a “great twist” has piqued our interest.
“It was awful, it was really awful – everone was so sad about it. And I feel so mean because I speak to people and they’re all like ‘Jon Snow, is he back?’ and it’s really heartbreaking because people are like ‘yeah, but he’s coming back though?’,” she said, adding: “There’s a great twist – but I can’t say that he’s going to be alive…”
What that exactly means is anyone’s guess. But, whatever Jon Snow’s fate, it sounds like we’ve got an exciting season ahead of us.
“I loved shooting this series,” Williams told reporters at the Critics’ Circle Awards in London, where she won best young British/Irish performer. “I think people are going to really enjoy it. Everything is… slotting into place for the finale. All the pieces are coming together.”
“People should be really excited.”
Game of Thrones series 6 will air on Monday 25th April at 9:00pm on Sky Atlantic
