The CBB contestant and ex-wife of the musician and artist will continue her stint on the Channel 5 reality series

Angie Bowie is to remain in the Celebrity Big Brother house after receiving news of the death of her ex-husband David Bowie.

A statement from Channel 5 confirms: “Following the very sad news of David Bowie’s death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives. She has taken the decision to continue in the programme.”

“The decision to remain in the house is entirely her choice, and she has been given the option to leave at any time if she changes her mind.

“Appropriate support will be available to Angie at any time if needed.”

Earlier today, a spokesman confirmed that Angie would be informed of the music icon’s death “at the earliest opportunity”.

News broke earlier today of the death of David Bowie following an 18-month battle with cancer. Musicians, actors, politicians and friends have all taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the late singer.
