Even John Boyega thinks the build-up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens was ridiculous

The actor reckons we could have done with fewer trailers and TV spots coming up to Episode VII

If you were excited for the build-up to Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, spare a thought for John Boyega. Both a Star Wars fanboy and a lead actor in the new movie, Boyega’s had to worry about the finished film for a while – and now that it’s finally in cinemas, he says he’s relieved that the endless parade of promotion and trailers can stop.

“I’m glad that the movie’s out,” Boyega told RadioTimes.com in a video interview. “I’m really happy about that cos…gosh man, that anticipation was so intense.

“You can’t do that forever man – just release the film. TV spots? Pfft.”
