You can expect Mick Carter’s stag do to be a lively night – because actor Danny Dyer was tasked with making it as authentic as possible.
Dyer, who recently admitted to starting drinking on Christmas morning at 8am, was asked for his advice on upcoming scenes by EastEnders’s executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins.
“Dom came to me and said, ‘I want a Danny Dyer stag night’. And I said, ‘Are you f***ing sure about this?'” laughed the actor. “So, yes, they gave me a bit of input into it.”
The episode to be broadcast on Monday 28 December will see Mick’s son Lee surprise his dad with a huge party in – where else? – the Queen Vic. “I’m running the most famous pub in the world these days, so we had to have it there,” added Dyer.
As for entertainment for the evening, Dyer called upon the services of an Oasis tribute band to play for the Vic’s regulars. “Yes, I love Oasis. So we have Noasis at the stag do. And there’s a Hammers vodka luge. Basically, it’s the ultimate bender in the Vic!
“I still think of it as a privilege to be in the Vic. I do catch my breath and think, ‘wow, I own that boozer’. You never quite get used to it. And this is a naughty stag. A well-deserved stag, if you know what I mean.”
