David Brent’s Juxtaposition Records is now a real company, Ricky Gervais reveals

Its first release will be the soundtrack to Life on the Road

Next year, all of David Brent’s dreams come true. Not only does the former general manager of a paper company get his own movie, Life on the Road, and go on tour with his band, Foregone Conclusion, he’s now the boss of his own record company.

Fans of The Office will remember that Brent released his cover of If You Don’t Know Me By Now on his own label, Juxtaposition Records.

Well, now Ricky Gervais has revealed that Juxtaposition Records is a real company, and guess what its first release will be?

Juxtaposition Records is now an actual record company. 1st release will be the Life On The Road Soundtrack album.

It’s true! Public filings show that Juxtaposition Records Limited was opened by one Ricky Dene Gervais back in 2013, before being brought out of dormancy recently. Before this point, it has only reported assets of £1, presumably meaning If You Don’t Know Me By Now sold even fewer copies than Brent admitted.

Hopefully the release of Life on The Road on 19th August 2016 will see the company’s fortunes turn around.
