But now? Well, now we’ve seen some actual footage.
The first teaser trailer sees Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) arrive in New York with a magical suitcase. That magical suitcase is opened, creatures escape and then all sorts of trouble ensues…
Fantastic Beasts is “neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series.” The film, which is JK Rowling’s screenwriting debut, is based on a Hogwarts textbook of the same name.
The drama begins in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. “Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds,” reads the movie’s synopsis.
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them will be in cinemas 18th November 2016
