The Great Sport Relief Bake Off line-up boasts Samantha Cameron, Victoria Coren-Mitchell and Will Young

John Simpson, David James, Jason Manford and Louise Redknapp also among the famous faces set to bake up a storm for charity

The Great British Bake Off tent is welcoming some famous visitors as another batch of celebrities sign up for Sport Relief.


Sixteen willing – and perhaps able – bakers will take part in the annual Great Sport Relief Bake Off, which sees celebs try their best to impress beloved judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood with their best baked goods.

It’s quite the line-up too, with Samantha Cameron, journalist John Simpson and former MP Ed Balls providing a tasty political line-up. Singers Will Young and Kimberley Walsh, sport stars Jermaine Jenas and Chris Kamara and comedians Jason Manford and Morgana Robinson have also signed up.

Jennifer Saunders, Sarah Millican, Ed Byrne and regular presenter Mel Giedroyc will each host one of the four-hour episodes, as the show aims to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Alison Steadman

Award-winning actress known for (among others) Fat Friends, Grumpy Old Women and Gavin and Stacey. 

Morgana Robinson

Comedian, writer and actress best known for self-titled series The Morgana Show as well as appearances on Suntrap, House of Fools and Toast of London. 

Ade Edmondson

The comedian, actor and writer – a long time collaborative partner with Rik Mayall – starred in Bottom and The Young Ones. His wife Jennifer Saunders appeared on the show last year. This time, she’s a presenter.

Will Young

Singer who rose to fame after winning 2002’s first series of Pop Idol.

Louise Redknapp

Formerly a member of 90s pop group Eternal, and the wife of football pundit Jamie Redknapp.

John Simpson

World Affairs Editor at the BBC and seasoned journalist and war reporter.

Jermaine Jenas

The footballer and pundit is currently a Match of the Day regular. 

Geri Horner 

Best-known as ‘Ginger Spice’ from 90s pop group Spice Girls – and that Union Jack dress.

Chris Kamara

Former professional footballer and football manager turned Sky Sports sports presenter. 

Ed Balls

Former Labour politician and shadow Chancellor, who lost his seat in the 2015 general election.

Kimberley Walsh

Former member of Girls Aloud turned theatre star.

Victoria Coren-Mitchell

Writer, only Connect presenter and professional poker player. Her husband David Mitchell entered Comic Relief Bake Off in 2015.

David James

Former goalkeeper, manager and BT Sport presenter, who earned 53 England caps during his career.

Maddy Hill

Actress best known for playing Nancy Carter in EastEnders.

Jason Manford

Stand-up comedian who makes regular appearances on shows including 8 out of 10 Cats and Would I Lie To You?

Samantha Cameron

Businesswoman, ambassador for Save the Children charity and wife of prime minister David Cameron.


The Great Sport Relief Bake Off will air early next year, with Sport Relief itself running from Friday 18th-20th March 2016.
